Aranos is situated east of Mariental in the Hardap district on route towards Gobabis. This small town is surrounded by the red dunes of the Kalahari and lies on the dry bed of the Nossob River. Surrounding farms offer hunting opportunities and venison processing.
The BLUE BULL LODGE lies directly on one of these Kalahari dunes and offers luxury self catering units to enjoy the silence, amazing sunsets over the red dunes and star filled skies of the Kalahari. The lodge is ideally situated on a popular and scenic route between the Wester Cape Province in South Africa to the Botswana border post (Mariental – Stampriet – Aranos – Gobabis – Buitepos post).
The lodge has been named after the mature ELAND BULL (Tourotragus oryx), the largest antelope in the African continent. As the bulls mature, they tend to turn a blueish colour.
