Aranos is a town situated between the beautiful dunes of the Kalahari Desert . The town is mostly surrounded by farms. The town was proclaimed a village in 1958 but was promoted to the status of town in September 2010. The majestic Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park lies to the east of Aranos and sprawls over the Botswana and South African borders approximately 130 km away. The Nossob river basin also forms an integral part of Aranos as it passes through the semi-arid dessert via Botswana and South Africa. – Namibia Tourism
